Some very interesting posts on the Greek Left

Here are some very interesting posts on antisemitism and the Greek Left΄, a huge subject and quite controversial I might add. They arrive from some great sites and I thoroughly recommend you to read more of their stuff; they’re jungle -report, tuki8eblom and terminal119. And if you’re further interested into this matter take a look at a recent interview from A.Tsipras to me, (unfortunately all four are in greek).

The Jews of Ioannina on Sky TV

Νέοι Φάκελοι/New Folders is a television program in Greece which presents various documentaries on current and past issues pertaining greek interest. On Jan 29 they broadcasted a 16min documentary on the destiny of the Jews of Ioannina during the Holocaust/Shoah. It hosted testimonies of survivors of the camps, interviews of christian and jewish greeks, photos of the actual deportation as it was immortalised by the Propaganda Office of the German Army and included the prickly issue of the post war problems that Ioanniote jews faced after the return from the camps.

An interview to Alexis Tsipras/ Μια συνέντευξη στον Αλέξη Τσίπρα

Synaspismos/SYRIZA is a greek political party which locates itself in the political space of the broader Left. Its current leader, Mr Alavanos, has decided recently to step down after a streak of positive electoral results and had indicated as his replacement a young politician named Alexis Tsipras, while also another party member Mr.Kouvelis had declared that he will run for the presidency. I thought it would be interesting to hear the views of the two candidates on a series of questions pertaining interest jewish greek interest so I asked for a written interview through the email of both candidates. Mr Tsipras has been kind enough to answer and here’s the results. :)

The interview is in greek; I apologize to my English readers but I felt it was necessary to preserve the original feel of the answers which of course were in greek, since the purpose of this interview was to make known the views of the candidates to the presidency to their jewish greek audience. Agit Prop

     Agit Prop/агит проп («αγκίτ προπ») derives from the word “agitazia” and “propaganda”; with the first aiming to instigate the heart and the soul of the receiving audience, while propaganda is the political argumentation which addresses his mind.

It’s also the name of a very good -greek language- blog whose authors have a keen interest on the jews of their hometown, Thessaloniki/Salonika. Among their various articles I’ve singled out those of greek jewish interest, (the first three being truly exceptional), although by no means fail to read some of their other stuff, especially if you’re concerned about Human Rights or advocate Open Source software/OS like myself!

Jews and the Twin Towers by tuki8eblom

I would be ungrateful if I didn’t admit that through this site I’ve had the chance to be wonderfully surprised by many people who seem to have the sheer recklessness to go against the mainstream views here in Greece. One of these people is touki8eblom, affectionately known as touki.

On this particular occasion the article that grasped my attention was a small but well documented essay on the widely spread myth that jews, (or Mossad, the israeli Secret Service), were responsible for 9/11. The rumor has it that 2-3-4-5.000 jews working in the World Trade Center were “alerted” and failed to show up that day for work; ergo jews knew about it or even organised it.
